In Memory of Max Sharkey
Max Sharkey, Director of Aero Hardware, died August 22, after a courageous two year battle with a brain tumor.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen; his loving sons, Kevin (Michelle) and Ryan; two adorable granddaughters, Ryan and Regan, who were the light of his life; his parents Max and Ann; and two brothers, Terry (Joan) and Carl.

Max Sharkey

Max was a dedicated employee of Aero Hardware for 38 years.  Max was very competitive and had endless energy to take care of everything everyday.  You could always count on Max to get it done and do more than you asked for.

He trained Aero's Assistant Manager, Marty Pardo when she came to work for AHS/HSC in May of 1970.  Back then they were all in one building in Miami.  Max was our inside and outside sales person.  He did everything including making Marty's cup of tea almost every morning.  He believed in treating people the way he wanted to be treated.  He led by example.

The Viet Nam war was going on and he was going to be drafted so he enlisted in the Air Force.  Lucky for him he was stationed at Tampa McDill Air Force Base his whole time.  He went to work for HSC in Tampa as an outside salesman for our industrial division after leaving the Air Force.

After a couple years the aircraft department needed a leader and with Max's love of aviation and Karen's family in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, it was an easy decision for the Sharkeys' to move back.  There was never a dull moment around the office with Max and his 'off the top of his head' one liners.  He was always laughing on the phone with customers.  They all loved him for his sense of humor.  He would invent games to intrigue the shop or shipping to accomplish goals.  The business grew and grew, and as we added more employees Max never lost that personal relationship with each of his employee's.  He never faulted anyone for leaving the company to better themselves.  They always returned to see Max and say hello.  Life around the office will be different without Max, but he would want us to keep growing the business and keep the customers satisfied and laughing.  Everyone that knew Max respected his love of people and life.  He will always be in our hearts.
